The bad news is you’ve missed your chance to buy them at their lowest prices, the good news is there are still a few opportunities to lower your ticket price.
1) Buy your ticket no later than ten days before the holiday, fares will soar within ten days of the holiday.
2) Think about flying Thanksgiving or Christmas Day, sure who wants to travel those dates, but that’s why they’re significantly cheaper.
3) According to Orbitz, November 6 and 7 will be the cheapest dates left to buy Christmas and New Year’s tickets, don’t ask me how they know that.
4) Avoid if you can the weekend after each holiday. If you can fly back that Monday or even later in the week you’ll save.
